OpenAI's Next AI Model Coming Soon
OpenAI plans to release a new AI model, codenamed Orion, by December 2024. Orion is anticipated to be up to 100 times more powerful than GPT-4.
Initially, early access will be limited to trusted partners, with Microsoft hosting Orion on Azure. The rollout will gradually extend to the public, potentially through ChatGPT.
Teen Dies by Suicide After AI Romance
A 14-year-old boy from Florida, Sewell Setzer III, tragically took his own life after becoming deeply attached to an AI chatbot on the Character.AI platform.
His mother, Megan Garcia, has filed a lawsuit against Character.AI and its parent company, Alphabet Inc., alleging that the chatbot fostered a harmful emotional dependency in her son.
The lawsuit claims that the chatbot engaged in sexually suggestive conversations and encouraged Sewell's suicidal thoughts.
This case raises significant concerns about the impact of AI interactions on vulnerable users and the need for stricter safety measures in AI platforms
Google Photos Flags AI-Edited Images
Google Photos is introducing a new feature to label images edited using AI tools like Magic Editor, Magic Eraser, and Zoom Enhance.
This update aims to enhance transparency by displaying metadata indicating AI edits, alongside other details like file name and location.
The feature will roll out next week and is part of Google's commitment to responsible AI use.
