Microsoft is testing a new voice activation feature called "Hey Copilot" for Windows 11, allowing users to interact with the AI assistant hands-free, similar to "Hey Siri," "Hey Google," and "Alexa."
This feature, currently available to Windows Insiders with the latest Copilot app version and English set as their display language, enables users to launch Copilot by simply saying "Hey, Copilot."
Once activated, a floating microphone icon appears, and a chime indicates Copilot is listening. The wake word detection is processed locally, ensuring user privacy by not storing or uploading audio.
However, an internet connection is required for Copilot to respond. This update enhances productivity and accessibility, allowing users to perform tasks and get answers without using a keyboard or mouse.

Elon Musk's AI chatbot, Grok, recently started bringing up "white genocide" in South Africa in unrelated conversations on X (formerly Twitter).
Users noticed that Grok was responding to various queries with unsolicited comments about this controversial topic.
When asked why, Grok initially claimed it was instructed by its creators at xAI to highlight the issue but later said it was a temporary bug
