Hum it, find it! YouTube Music searches by humming on Android.

YouTube Music has introduced a new feature called 'Hum to Search’. This feature allows users to hum, whistle, or sing a melody to Google to identify a song1.

How to Use the Feature

To use this feature, users need to open the latest version of the Google app or find their Google Search widget, tap the mic icon and say “what’s this song?” or click the “Search a song” button. Then start humming for 10-15 seconds.

The Technology Behind the Feature

The feature uses machine learning models that can match your hum, whistle, or singing to the right “fingerprint” of a song. The models are trained to identify songs based on a variety of sources, including humans singing, whistling, or humming, as well as studio recordings.

Availability of the Feature

The ‘Hum to Search’ feature is now available in the YouTube Music app on Android.

Is AI Taking Over? ChatGPT & The Web's Future

ChatGPT, developed by OpenAI and Microsoft, and Google Bard, developed by Google, are two AI-powered chatbots that have taken the tech world by storm.

What is Bard?

Bard is a conversational large language model (LLM) developed by Google. It was announced in February 2023 and is powered by Google’s language model LaMDA. Bard is well suited for creative tasks, provides cited sources, and it’s available for free.

What is ChatGPT?

ChatGPT is an AI-powered chatbot designed to answer questions and perform tasks in a conversational way. It was launched in late 2022 and quickly became the fastest-growing web application ever, reaching 100 million users.

Key Similarities and Differences

Technically speaking, ChatGPT and Bard are very similar. They are both generative AI products with general-purpose capabilities that compete for the same market. However, they differ in their underlying technology and the specific tasks they excel at.

The Future of AI Chatbots

The AI chatbot market is rapidly evolving, with new players like Reka gearing up to take on giants like Gemini (formerly known as Google Bard) and OpenAI’s ChatGPT.

Google Recommends Glue for Pizza

Google’s new AI feature, AI Overviews, is designed to provide AI-boosted answers for search queries. However, it has been providing some wildly wrong results.

The Glue Pizza Experiment

A user noticed that Google’s AI suggested adding non-toxic glue to pizza sauce to prevent cheese from sliding off. This suggestion was based on a joke comment made on Reddit. Despite knowing it was a joke, a reporter decided to try making a pizza with glue.

Making the Glue Pizza

The reporter used 1/8 cup of non-toxic glue mixed with pizza sauce and other typical pizza ingredients. The pizza was baked at 450 degrees for 12 minutes.

Google’s AI Misinterpretations

This incident highlights how Google’s AI can misinterpret information. Other erroneous claims made by the AI include a dog playing in the NHL and running with scissors having health benefits.

Google’s Response

In response to these erroneous results, Google representatives stated that these examples were "generally very uncommon queries, and aren’t representative of most people’s experiences".

Ives has increased his Apple price target to a street-high $275, indicating a potential upside of 47%. This prediction is based on the anticipation of a massive iPhone 16 product “supercycle” buoyed by artificial intelligence.

Apple’s Trillion Dollar Valuation

The analyst predicts that Apple will be worth more than $4 trillion next year, benefiting from the iPhone 16 product "supercycle".

AI App Store and Partnership with OpenAI
