Google Uses AI to Target How You Watch TV

Google has introduced a suite of AI-driven advertising tools designed to enhance brand engagement by targeting four key consumer behaviors: streaming, scrolling, searching, and shopping.
The announcement was made during the NewFronts event in New York City, where Google executives emphasized the evolving nature of digital marketing and the collapse of traditional marketing funnels.
The new tools integrate generative AI into Google’s Display & Video 360 (DV360) demand-side platform, expanding on its existing audience persona feature.
A major highlight is the introduction of a commerce and retail solution in collaboration with Regal Cinemas, Costco, Intuit, and Kinective Media by United Airlines.
Additionally, Google is bringing retail media to YouTube, offering advertisers deeper insights into consumer behavior on the platform.

AI Upgrades Hit Pinterest’s Search Tool

Pinterest has rolled out new AI-powered updates to its visual search functionality, aiming to refine image-based searches and improve accessibility across its platform.
The enhancements allow users to search using images instead of text, making it easier to find items that match a particular style, vibe, or aesthetic.
One of the standout features is an AI-driven tool that helps users understand why they like a particular Pin.
Initially available in the women’s fashion category in the U.S., Canada, and the U.K., this feature uses Visual Language Models (VLMs) to generate descriptive words that highlight key elements of an image.
This approach is similar to Google’s multimodal search but focuses on helping users refine their queries.
Uber
Self-Driving Ubers Coming to the Middle East

Uber has announced a strategic partnership with China-based autonomous vehicle company Pony AI to deploy self-driving taxis in a key Middle Eastern market later this year.
The collaboration marks Uber’s latest move to strengthen its presence in the growing robotaxi sector.
During the initial pilot phase, Pony AI’s autonomous vehicles will include a safety operator onboard before transitioning to a fully autonomous commercial launch.
Uber has been actively expanding its partnerships in the self-driving space, recently signing deals with May Mobility and Momenta, as well as extending its collaboration with China’s WeRide to enter 15 additional cities globally.
