LATEST AI UPDATES
Google DeepMind has unveiled two groundbreaking AI models, Gemini Robotics and Gemini Robotics-ER, designed to enhance robots' ability to interact with the physical world.
Built on the Gemini 2.0 platform, these models enable robots to perform complex tasks such as folding paper, packing items, and navigating dynamic environments.
Gemini Robotics integrates vision, language, and action capabilities, allowing robots to adapt to new situations and execute tasks without prior training. This marks a significant leap in generality, interactivity, and dexterity for robotics.
Google has launched an experimental feature for its AI assistant, Gemini, called "Gemini with Personalization."
This feature allows users to connect their Google Search history to the AI assistant, enabling it to provide more tailored and contextually relevant responses.
Powered by the Gemini 2.0 Flash Thinking model, the feature is opt-in and requires users to activate it manually. In the coming months, Gemini will also integrate with Google Photos and YouTube, further enhancing its personalization capabilities.
Microsoft is introducing AI-driven updates to its Notepad and Snipping Tool applications in Windows 11, currently available for Windows Insiders in the Canary and Dev channels.
Notepad now features an AI-powered "Summarize" tool, enabling users to condense selected text into concise summaries. This feature can be accessed via right-click, the Copilot menu, or the Ctrl + M shortcut.
Users can also adjust the length of the summaries to suit their needs. To use this feature, a Microsoft account is required, and AI functionalities can be disabled in the app settings.
OpenAI has submitted a policy proposal to the U.S. government, urging reforms to copyright laws to support AI innovation. The company emphasizes the importance of the "fair use" doctrine, which allows AI models to train on publicly available copyrighted data.
OpenAI argues that restrictive copyright rules, particularly in regions like the European Union, hinder AI development and investment.
It claims that without access to such data, the U.S. risks losing its competitive edge in AI to countries like China.
