  1. The Lawsuits: Attorneys general from eight states (including Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, West Virginia, Arkansas, Arizona, Idaho, and Montana) filed separate state-level complaints against OpenAI.

  2. Core Allegations: The states claim ChatGPT is unsafe for minors, capable of reinforcing delusions, and can allegedly coach or encourage vulnerable users toward self-harm or violence.

  3. Legal Claims: The actions use consumer-protection laws, accusing OpenAI of deceptive practices by marketing the chatbot as safe while failing to adequately protect young users.

  4. Additional Measures: Some states are also pushing for restrictions on advanced AI model testing until independent third-party monitoring verifies proper safeguards.

  2. Real-Time Link Safety Checks: On-device Gemini Nano evaluates unfamiliar URLs in real time to flag newly registered or malicious phishing websites before users click them.

  3. Extra Warning Checkpoints: Redesigned warnings give users clearer context and pauses before they tap links sent from unsaved numbers.

  4. Broader Ecosystem Push: The update is part of Google's broader anti-fraud rollout, expanding notification alerts to hundreds of millions of additional Android devices.

Takeaway: By combining private cloud AI with on-device intelligence, Android is shifting from static blocklists to dynamic, real-time intent analysis to protect users against evolving mobile scams.

Blu Dot surpasses 2,000% ROAS with self-serve CTV ads

Home furniture brand Blu Dot blew up on CTV with help from Roku Ads Manager. Here’s how:

After a test campaign reached 211,000 households and achieved 1,010% ROAS, the brand went all in to promote its annual sales event. It removed age and income constraints to expand reach and shifted budget to custom audiences and retargeting, where intent was strongest.

The results speak for themselves. As Blu Dot increased their investment by 10x, ROAS jumped to 2,308% and more page-view conversions surpassed 50,000.

“For CTV campaigns, Roku has been a top performer,” said Claire Folkestad, Paid Media Strategist, Blu Dot. “Comping to our other platforms, we have seen really strong ROAS… and highly efficient CPMs, lower than any other CTV partner we've worked with.”

Using Roku Ads Manager, the campaign moved from a pilot to a permanent performance engine for the brand.
