LATEST DEVELOPMENTS

Meta’s Muse Voice is now live for all US users, letting you voice and video call a customizable, animated Muse AI avatar on mobile, web and Mac, ahead of its Muse Charm wearable.

Details:

  1. What launched: Muse Voice lets you call and video chat with Muse, Meta’s consumer AI agent. It’s now available to everyone in the US after first being shown at Meta Connect in September.

  2. The tech behind it: Two new models, Muse Realtime Avatar and Muse Realtime Voice, power an animated avatar that talks back live and uses small expressions and gestures to match the conversation’s tone.

  3. Customizable avatar: The default character is a cute avatar called “Jolly,” but you can change it to look like a person, an animal or another character. You can ask it questions or have it handle tasks for you.

  4. Why Meta is doing this: Meta thinks giving the AI a face and personality will make people feel more connected to their agent. This sets Muse apart from rival voice-only AI chat features.

  5. Where it works: It works now on mobile, web and Mac. It’s coming later to Meta’s AI Glasses and the “Muse Charm,” a Tamagotchi-like wearable expected before the end of the year.

Takeaway: Meta is betting that AI agents with a face and personality will win over voice-only assistants. The upcoming Muse Charm shows it wants your AI companion with you all day, not just in an app.

Perplexity launched Teammates: always-on AI agents that own ongoing work, run on Perplexity Computer and join Slack. Now in preview for $200/month Max users on the web.

Details:

  1. What launched: Perplexity released Teammates on November 5, 2026, as a research preview for individual Max subscribers on the web. Unlike a chatbot, each agent is given a job and keeps working on it over time.

  2. How it works: Each teammate owns a piece of ongoing work and runs on its own computer inside Perplexity Computer. Teammates can join Slack channels, pass work to each other, and run different jobs at the same time.

  3. Uses what you already have: Teammates can use your existing projects, memory, skills, files and connected apps in Perplexity. You can track each one’s progress in its own thread in the Perplexity app.

  4. Pricing and access: It requires the $200/month Max plan and uses that plan’s Computer allowance, with no separate price yet. Mobile access is coming later, and Enterprise accounts don’t get it by default.

  5. The bigger picture: The launch puts Perplexity up against OpenAI’s Dots and Anthropic’s Claude Duet in the race to build AI “digital workers.” CEO Aravind Srinivas says he expects every organization to eventually have hundreds of teammates working for each person.

Takeaway: AI is moving from “ask and answer” to “assign and forget.” Perplexity wants agents that own real jobs, but for now they’re a premium experiment that only $200/month users can try.

Claude’s new Personal Finance beta lets US Pro, Max and Ultra users link bank and card accounts via Plaid to ask about spending, bills and balances, with read-only access.

Details:

  1. What launched: On November 5, Anthropic released Personal Finance, a new hub in Claude where you link your bank and credit card accounts through Plaid. You can then ask plain-language questions about your spending, balances and upcoming bills.

  2. What Claude can see: It has read-only access to balances, account names, credit limits and up to two years of transactions, across more than 12,000 banks and institutions. It can’t move, manage or invest your money.

  3. Smart alerts: Beyond summarizing spending, Claude looks across your accounts to flag duplicate charges, unexpected fees and bills that keep creeping up.

  4. Privacy and no ads: You log in through Plaid, so Anthropic never gets your banking password. Chats inside the Personal Finance hub aren’t used to train Anthropic’s models. There are no ads or sponsored product recommendations.

  5. Who can use it: It’s rolling out in beta this week to US subscribers on the Pro, Max and Ultra plans, on the web and the Mac app.

  6. The competition: This is Claude catching up to ChatGPT, which launched similar Plaid-powered finance tools in May. Investor Anthony Pompliano has also accused Anthropic of copying his finance startup, Silvia; Anthropic hasn’t responded publicly.

Takeaway: AI chatbots are turning into personal money assistants. Claude’s read-only, no-ads approach is built for trust, but you still need to be comfortable handing an AI two years of your bank history.
