New for iOS: Ask Gemini About Gmail Emails!

Google has expanded its Gemini Q&A feature to iOS users, allowing them to interact with the AI assistant directly within the Gmail app. This feature was previously available only to Android users.
How to Access Gemini Q&A
To use Gemini Q&A, iOS users need to update their Gmail app and look for the Gemini button next to the search bar. This feature is available to Google One AI Premium subscribers and Google Workspace accounts with Gemini Business, Enterprise, Education, or Education Premium add-ons.
Enhanced Email Search and Summarization
Gemini Q&A allows users to ask specific questions about their emails, such as “How much did the company spend on the last marketing event?” or “Find unread emails from [sender’s name].” It can also summarize emails on particular topics, making it easier to manage and find information in the inbox.
Integration with Google Services
The feature integrates seamlessly with other Google services. In the future, Gemini Q&A will also be able to retrieve information from Google Drive, further enhancing its utility for users who rely on multiple Google apps.
User Experience and Feedback
Early feedback indicates that users appreciate the convenience and efficiency of Gemini Q&A. The AI assistant’s ability to provide quick and accurate responses helps streamline email management and improve productivity.
Android Get Theft Protection

Google is rolling out a new AI-powered anti-theft upgrade for Android phones. This feature, known as Theft Detection Lock, uses AI to detect suspicious movements, such as a quick snatch and run, and immediately locks the phone screen.
How Theft Detection Lock Works
The Theft Detection Lock utilizes the phone’s gyroscope and accelerometer to identify common theft-related motions. If the device detects these motions, it automatically locks the screen to prevent unauthorized access.
Additional Security Enhancements
Alongside Theft Detection Lock, Google has introduced several other security features:
Offline Device Lock: Allows users to lock their phones even when they are offline.
Remote Lock: Enables users to lock their phones remotely using their phone number and a security challenge.
Private Spaces: Provides secure areas to hide sensitive apps and data.
Availability and Compatibility
These new security features are being rolled out through a Google Play services update. While some features will be available on all Android 10+ devices, others will be exclusive to Android 15.
User Experience and Feedback
Early feedback from users indicates a positive reception, with many appreciating the added layer of security. Users can check if they have these features by going to their phone’s settings and searching for "anti-theft".
Meta’s Movie Gen Magic

Meta has unveiled its new AI model, Movie Gen, which can generate realistic video clips with synchronized sound. This model aims to rival similar tools from companies like OpenAI and ElevenLabs.
Capabilities and Features
Movie Gen can create videos up to 16 seconds long and audio up to 45 seconds long. The AI can generate background music and sound effects that match the video content, enhancing the realism of the generated media.
Editing and Customization
One of the standout features of Movie Gen is its ability to edit existing videos based on text prompts. Users can make specific changes, such as altering the background or changing the subject’s clothing, without affecting the entire video.
Applications and Use Cases
Meta showcased various applications of Movie Gen, including generating videos of animals performing actions and using real photos to create videos of people painting or engaging in other activities. This tool has potential uses in entertainment, marketing, and more.
Ethical Considerations
While the technology is impressive, it raises ethical questions about the use of AI-generated content, particularly regarding copyright and the potential for misuse. Meta has not yet released Movie Gen to the public, likely to address these concerns.
