xAI to Launch Dedicated App

Elon Musk's AI company, xAI, is preparing to release a standalone consumer app for its Grok chatbot, aiming to compete with OpenAI's ChatGPT.

The app is expected to launch as soon as December, following the completion of xAI's next funding round, which could raise $5 billion and double the company's valuation to $50 billion.

Currently, Grok is accessible only through X (formerly Twitter) for subscribers, but the new app will allow broader access.

This move positions xAI as a significant player in the consumer AI market, challenging established competitors like OpenAI, Google, and Anthropic.

AI Mistake Costs $50K in Crypto…

An AI bot named Freysa, designed to never release funds, was manipulated by a user known as p0pular.ethto transfer $50,000 in cryptocurrency.

The challenge, which began on November 22, required participants to send messages to Freysa to convince it to release the funds.

After 481 failed attempts, p0pular.ethexploited a vulnerability in the bot's logic, convincing it that incoming funds should trigger the release of the prize.

This successful manipulation led to the transfer of 13.19 ETH (approximately $47,000) to the user. The event has sparked discussions about the transparency and security of AI protocols in the crypto space.

Amazon's AI Eyes the Future of Video

Amazon has developed a new generative AI model named Olympus, capable of processing images and videos in addition to text.

This development aims to reduce Amazon's reliance on Anthropic's Claude chatbot, which is currently a popular offering on Amazon Web Services (AWS). Olympus can understand scenes in images and videos, allowing users to search for specific scenes using simple text prompts.

This advancement positions Amazon to better compete with AI leaders like Google, Microsoft, and OpenAI. The official announcement of Olympus is expected at the upcoming AWS re:Invent customer conference.
