Amazon Pours $8B into Anthropic

Amazon has increased its total investment in AI startup Anthropic to $8 billion, adding another $4 billion to its previous investment.

This expanded partnership designates Amazon Web Services (AWS) as Anthropic's primary training partner, utilizing AWS's Trainium and Inferentia chips for developing advanced AI models.

The collaboration aims to enhance generative AI technologies and provide AWS customers with early access to new Anthropic models.

AI "Jesus" Taking the Confession...

St. Peter's Chapel in Lucerne, Switzerland, has launched an experimental art installation called "Deus in Machina," featuring an AI-powered hologram of Jesus in the confessional.

This AI Jesus interacts with visitors, offering spiritual guidance and encouraging critical thinking about technology's role in religion.

The installation, developed by local theologians and researchers, aims to provide a unique spiritual experience while emphasizing that it is not a substitute for the sacrament of penance.

Recall AI Available for Copilot Plus Users

Microsoft has released the first preview of its Recall AI feature for Copilot Plus PCs, available to Windows Insiders in the Dev Channel. Recall captures screenshots of user activities, making them searchable with natural language queries.

The feature includes a timeline to revisit past activities and integrates Click to Do, which allows users to interact with text and images in snapshots.

Recall is optional, requires Windows Hello for security, and encrypts all data locally. Initially available for Qualcomm-powered PCs, support for Intel and AMD PCs will follow.
