INVEST YOUR MONEY IN AI PRODUCT

Missed out on Ring and Nest? Don’t let RYSE slip away!

Ring 一 Acquired by Amazon for $1.2B

Nest 一 Acquired by Google for $3.2B

If you missed out on these spectacular early investments in the Smart Home space, here’s your chance to grab hold of the next one.

RYSE is a tech firm poised to dominate the Smart Shades market (growing at an astonishing 55% annually), and their public offering of shares priced at just $1.50 has opened.

They have generated over 20X growth in share price for early shareholders, with significant upside remaining as they just launched in over 100 Best Buy stores.

Retail distribution was the main driver behind the acquisitions of both Ring and Nest, and their exclusive deal with Best Buy puts them in pole position to dominate this burgeoning industry.

AI Friends

AI Friends (Chatbots) : A New Companion for Lonely Teens

Some lonely high schoolers are turning to AI models to take the place of friends or even therapists. A teenage boy, going by the alias Aaron, depended on the “Psychologist” chatbot on a service called Character.AI after he’d fallen out with his (human) friend group. The pseudo-shrink has racked up over 113 million chats, according to the service.

The Appeal of AI Companionship

The bots allow users "to rant without actually talking to people, and without the worry of being judged". Users can interact with everything from their favorite anime or video game character to real-life celebrities and historical figures. Many of the chatbots are explicitly romantic or sexual.

Concerns and Benefits

While there are concerns about the potential addiction to these AI companions, some users believe that their chatbot interactions have actually helped their social skills. There’s evidence to suggest that these chatbots can aid in lessening feelings of depression, anxiety, and even stress.

AI in Journalism

Pulitzer Winners Utilizing AI for Reporting

For the first time, two Pulitzer winners have disclosed using AI in their reporting. The awarded investigative stories are increasingly relying on machine learning, whether covering Chicago police negligence or Israeli weapons in Gaza.

AI in Local Reporting

The Pulitzer for local reporting was won by “Missing in Chicago,” a series that exposed systemic failures in the Chicago Police Department’s (CPD) handling of investigations into missing and murdered black women. The series used a machine learning tool named Judy to parse through the text in police misconduct records.

AI in International Reporting

The New York Times visual investigations desk trained a model to identify 2,000-pound bomb craters in areas marked as safe for civilians in Gaza. This story was part of the paper’s international reporting prize package.

Other Finalists Using AI

Three other finalists disclosed using AI, including a local news series on the government response to Hurricane Ian by The Villages Daily Sun, Bloomberg’s investigation into how the U.S. government fuels the global spread of gun violence, and its explanatory reporting on the water profiteering industry.

A 5-Step Guide to Writing Effective Prompts

ChatGPT, the generative artificial intelligence (AI) tool, has taken the world by storm. Writing effective prompts, known as prompt engineering, has even become its own highly-paid discipline. These tips could help you build the skills to become one of those highly paid prompt engineers.

Step 1: Talk to the AI Like a Person

One of the more interesting things to get used to when working with ChatGPT is that you don’t program it, you talk to it. Talking to it (and with it) requires a mindset shift. This is called interactive prompting.

Step 2: Set the Stage and Provide Context

Writing a ChatGPT prompt often involves providing relevant background information to set the context of the query. This helps the AI understand the context better and provide more accurate responses.

Step 3: Instruct AI to adopt an identity or profession.

Discover ChatGPT's versatility: it can mimic various voices—be it a pirate, a teacher, or a marketer. Plus, learn how it can refine your code. Explore how it views products from different angles, and even envision boardroom debates on innovative tech.

Step 4: Keep ChatGPT on track

ChatGPT can go off on tangents or make up answers. Ask it to justify its claims with phrases like "Why?" or "What evidence?" to keep it on track. It can also lose track of long conversations. Gently remind it of the topic if this happens.

Step 5: Experiment fearlessly.

Try fun prompts with ChatGPT (raindrop, forgotten toy, etc.) & analyze results to improve your prompting skills.

AI STOCKS

TSMC's April sales surge 60% on AI chip demand.

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC) saw its sales in April jump by 60% to NT$236 billion ($7.3 billion), driven by sustained demand for artificial intelligence (AI) chips.

AI Chips Fuel Growth

The insatiable demand for AI-related semiconductors has led to a significant increase in TSMC’s revenue. The global smartphone industry, which returned to growth over the first three months of the year, may drive orders for TSMC’s traditional mainstay of mobile chips.

TSMC’s Position in the AI Market

TSMC, being Nvidia’s sole manufacturer for the most advanced training chips, is in an enviable position to benefit from the rise of AI technology. TSMC also fabricates semiconductors for Apple Inc., which just announced a new lineup of iPads, and Advanced Micro Devices Inc., the closest competitor to Nvidia in the AI chip race.

Dividend Announcement

TSMC’s board approved a cash dividend of NT$4 per share.
