LATEST DEVELOPMENTS

Apple CarPlay now supports five leading AI chatbots, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Grok, Meta AI, and Anthropic’s Claude, bringing voice-driven AI assistants directly into cars.

🔎 Details

  1. Apple introduced CarPlay support for conversational apps starting with iOS 26.4.

  2. Claude (Anthropic) became the latest chatbot to join, following Meta AI earlier this week.

  3. Other supported chatbots include ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Grok.

  4. Siri AI will also integrate with CarPlay starting with iOS 27, currently in beta.

  5. Claude’s CarPlay app lets users resume recent chats or start new voice conversations.

Takeaway: CarPlay is evolving into a hub for AI assistants, making in-car voice interactions smarter and more versatile.

A Kickstarter-backed short film, Road Rage, imagines a robotaxi as a murderous villain, reflecting public anxieties about AI, autonomy, and Big Tech in everyday life.

🔎 Details

  1. Road Rage is a planned short film seeking $40,000 on Kickstarter.

  2. The story pits Joa, a human ridehail driver, against Roboride, an autonomous car that turns violent after a minor incident.

  3. Director Romain Thomassin describes it as “analog versus artificial.”

  4. The villain car is an old Prius modified with LED lights, fake cameras, and a menacing red dot.

  5. Thomassin calls it a “nasty Waymo,” styled like a gritty ’70s car chase but set in modern San Francisco.

  6. The chase will use real cars, actors, and stunts for authenticity.

Takeaway: Robotaxis are now cultural symbols of fear and distrust in AI, with filmmakers turning them into cinematic villains to mirror society’s unease.

Seattle Times and Newsday filed lawsuits against OpenAI and Microsoft, claiming their journalism was misused to train AI, threatening the survival of news organizations.

🔎 Details

  1. Two major newspapers, Seattle Times and Newsday, filed lawsuits against OpenAI and Microsoft.

  2. They argue AI models exploit journalism, risking the industry’s collapse.

  3. The lawsuit describes generative AI as “a snake eating its own tail,” destroying the very sources it relies on.

  4. It claims ChatGPT and Copilot consume human content, then output derivative versions for profit.

  5. Other publishers have previously sued over copyright infringement since 2023.

  6. Seattle Times’ case is notable because Microsoft and OpenAI had funded some of its journalism projects.

  7. Microsoft responded, saying it was “surprised” but open to discussions.

Takeaway: This lawsuit highlights growing tension between AI companies and traditional media, raising urgent questions about copyright, sustainability, and the future of journalism.

AI made PMs faster. Multiplayer mode is still broken.

A PM can summarize research, draft a PRD, and mock up a prototype before lunch. The hard part starts when the team has to decide what actually gets built.

Jira Product Discovery gives product teams one place to capture insights, prioritize ideas with consistent frameworks, and build living roadmaps stakeholders can rally around.

And because it’s connected to Jira, the context behind every decision stays with the work—so developers and their agents know not just what to build, but why.

AI helps PMs move faster. Jira Product Discovery helps the whole team build with confidence.
