A recent report by Bloomberg Intelligence reveals that AI could lead to the elimination of up to 200,000 jobs in global banks over the next three to five years.
The survey, which included 93 major banks like Citigroup, JPMorgan, and Goldman Sachs, indicates that roles involving repetitive tasks, such as back office, middle office, and operations, are most at risk.
Executives expect to cut an average of 3% of their workforce, with some predicting cuts as high as 10%.
AI is already being used to automate tasks, significantly reducing the need for human intervention. Despite the job cuts, AI is expected to boost productivity and profits, potentially adding $170 billion to the banking sector by 2028
Meta Caught Using Pirated Content for AI?🔗Link
Newly unredacted court documents reveal that Meta used Library Genesis (LibGen), a notorious piracy database, to train its AI models.
The documents allege that Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg approved the use of this pirated content despite internal concerns. The lawsuit, filed by a group of authors including Sarah Silverman, claims that Meta's actions constitute copyright infringement.
Meta argues that its use of the data falls under the "fair use" doctrine, but the case could set a significant precedent for how tech companies use copyrighted content in AI development

AI + Football: What’s Next?🔗Link
Artificial intelligence (AI) is poised to transform football in numerous ways, from tactical analysis to injury prevention.
AI can simulate millions of matches, providing insights into optimal strategies and player performance. Clubs like Liverpool and Barcelona are already leveraging AI for tactical improvements and injury prevention.
AI's ability to analyze vast amounts of data can help in scouting, recruitment, and even predicting player injuries. However, the integration of AI in football also raises ethical concerns and could potentially impact jobs within the sport.
